About Me

I'm Dr Camilla Holden, and I’m a Clinical Psychologist who uses expertise to develop tailored psychology treatments for adults, young people and children experiencing mental distress. I have a kind and friendly manner, which I hope puts people at ease, allowing us to work together to overcome your difficulties. I firmly believe that the foundation to change is helping my patients understand the reasons for their difficulties through empowering them with the knowledge of how our brains work and how our experiences can shape us. We can then build on this to share strategies to take you through life, overcoming difficulties and living the life you want.

I have a total of 14 years NHS experience in various mental health settings, including neuro rehabilitation services, adult mental health services and paediatric services where I specialised in gastroenterology and diabetes. In my most recent NHS post I worked to support the set-up and delivery of a staff wellbeing service, which provided specialised support for members of the emergency services, health professionals and social care teams. I have always provided supervision to other colleagues and currently co-supervise a PHD project in the field of diabetes.

I appreciate that finding help can feel like a daunting step. However, I truly believe that mental distress can impact anyone and therefore we are all likely to need support at some point in our lives. This means that working with me ensures a completely non-judgmental approach where we will work together to overcome difficulties.

Clinical Psychologist

About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked with young people, their families, adults across the life span and health care teams within and outside the NHS for more than 10 years since completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London in 2011. I regard it as a privilege to support individuals, young people and their families when times feel challenging, and I aim to provide holistic and compassionate care.

In my therapeutic work, I am using a range of approaches (e.g. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassionate and Brief Solution Focussed Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and see therapy as a collaborative process. I strongly believe in treating everybody with integrity and respect whilst also acknowledging that different members of a family may present with different needs and opinions.

I feel passionate about working preventatively as much as supporting you in learning to master the challenges you face at the time we meet. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore what you would like to change and how we can work towards positive and meaningful goals. Session number and frequency will depend on your individual needs and circumstances, but I will make suggestions on what could be useful from a therapeutic point of view. At the Holden Practice, I will offer support to adults mainly but have also capacity to work with young people with underlying chronic health problems and/ or their parents.

About Me

I’m Dr Jessica Staniford, a clinical psychologist, with over 10 years’ experience in various NHS services, supporting people experiencing distress. I am skilled in helping people who are struggling with painful emotions (such as anxiety, low mood, shame) as well as trauma and relational difficulties. I am passionate about offering a service that is highly respectful, compassionate, non-judgemental, and tailored to meet your individual needs. I therefore adapt my approach to meet you where you are at on your journey, whether this is the first time you have reached out for support, or you have had therapy before.

It can be daunting to ask for help, but I hope that my relaxed and warm approach will help to put you at ease, so that we can build a trusting therapeutic relationship and work together to make sense of what has happened to you in your life. This will help us to understand what you are currently struggling with, and how we can put things into place to overcome some of these challenges, and move you in the direction you are aiming for.

When we work together, we will use your expertise of your own life, and I will draw upon different psychological models to help us understand your life story. The approaches I draw on include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), schema, compassion focused therapy (CFT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and I am currently training in EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing).

About Me

I am Dr. Juliet Kennedy, a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with children, young people, and their families, primarily within the NHS. After completing my doctorate at the University of Oxford, I gained valuable experience at the John Radcliffe Hospital, where I have specialised in supporting children and families dealing with chronic health conditions.

I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs of each child and family, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. My areas of particular interest include working with young people experiencing anxiety, phobia’s, OCD, Low mood, PTSD and those facing challenges due to health conditions.

I believe that creating meaningful understanding and change for children and young people, especially when they are facing difficult challenges, is incredibly important. A key aspect of my approach is to engage the young person in the therapeutic process, ensuring they have space to understand what is happening and so we can collaboratively work on what is important to them. I aim to create a safe and nurturing environment where both young people and their families feel supported and empowered to work towards their goals.

Every child is unique, and I am dedicated to providing evidence-based care that meets the specific needs of each individual and family I work with.
